MEGRO GmbH & Co. KG is part of the Saarland-based JUCHEM GROUP. The family-owned company currently produces high-quality grain and fat products at two locations and is at the forefront of technology in its sector. MEGRO supplies raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products for the cereal, muesli, snack bar, biscuit, and baking industries, as well as for manufacturers of high-quality plant-based milk alternatives and natural grain extracts (plant-based ingredients).

With the help of cutting-edge production processes, 140 employees produce high-quality base ingredients from valuable raw materials. MEGRO’s site in Großrosseln produces the best kernels and grains, groats, coarse meal, whole grain flakes, oat bran, oat flours, and speciality milled products – including organic varieties.

Top quality, top products. Thanks to innovative technology and sound craftsmanship.

High-quality food steeped in tradition

Grain was ground in the Großrosseln mill for several centuries. The mill’s operations changed around the middle of the 19th century. From that point onwards, mainly high-quality oats have been hulled, kilned, ground, cut, milled, and flaked in the former grinding mill. Top-notch products are also made from wheat, rye, barley, and spelt.

Production processes and the wishes of the customers have been constantly evolving since that time. MEGRO has always taken these developments into account. These days MEGRO is equipped with a powerful grain mill and up-to-date infrastructure, from quality control in its own laboratory to packaging and logistics. Perfectly complemented by the passion and in-depth know-how of experienced employees, MEGRO produces the best basic materials for demanding customers across Europe from carefully selected grain at its traditional site.

Certified quality. For safe and naturally healthy food.

MEGRO offers customers grain products of the highest quality. This is guaranteed by our certifications in line with the following standards:

IFS (International Food Standard)
The IFS is an international standard and is accredited by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). It stands for the evaluation of the conformity of products and processes in terms of food safety and food quality.

SMETA (Sedex Member Ethical Trade Audit)
SMETA bases its evaluation criteria on the Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) code. The audit comprises four pillars: Health and safety, work rules, environment, and business ethics. Our products are also certified as kosher, halal, and organic. In addition, we offer Naturland-certified oat products.

Our mill byproducts (straight feed) are certified according to QS and meet the requirements for feed safety.

Thinking and acting ethically. Out of responsibility for man and nature.

People and our environment have always been at the heart of our family company’s activities. Supporting healthy eating, the most fundamental of human needs, is just as important to us as sustainable production. At our sites in Eppelborn and Großrosseln, we use modern technology in such a way that sensitive ingredients are treated as gently as possible. In addition, our production processes are as true to natural cycles as they can be. We also make sure that every step of the manufacturing process is traceable and verifiable. This is reflected, for example, in our internal quality criteria, the sourcing of regionally produced grain from selected farms with whom we have long-standing business relationships, and in our resource-conserving and sustainable production processes.
